Carbon Neutrality
Computle is committed to being carbon neutral by 2035. While we prepare, we use renewable energy and are reducing the carbon footprint of our supply chain.
Renewable energy
Section titled “Renewable energy”Computle data centre power is on renewable tariffs, as is power at selected Computle offices. Computle’s UK sites are matched 100% renewable through a direct power purchase agreement, so Scope 2 operational emissions for a workstation on a Computle UK site are zero by that measure.
The Energy Report in the Computle Portal shows the electricity your workstations used each month, per machine and per person, for your own Scope 2 reporting. Computle publishes its fleet energy data at computle.com/energy-report.
Fewer single-use materials
Section titled “Fewer single-use materials”Computle engineers and manufactures its blade workstations in-house, so it chooses each component. We favour readily recyclable materials such as metal and leave out plastics such as front bezels. We estimate that at least 80% of each workstation can be recycled through conventional recycling programmes; the remainder, such as printed circuit boards, goes to specialist recycling.
Local assembly
Section titled “Local assembly”Rather than shipping fully assembled workstations to each data centre, Computle uses local inventory where possible and ships only the shells. This saves around 40 kg of shipping weight per rack.
