Connection Messages: This Device's Network

These messages are about the computer, tablet or phone you are connecting from. Remotle checks this device’s own connection while it connects, and reports it when that is the cause.

This device is offline

What you see

“This device is offline. Connect this device to the internet, then try again.”

The same notice also appears on the machine list before you connect, as a banner: “This device is offline. Connect it to the internet to use Remotle.”

What it means

This device has no working internet connection.

What to do

1. Check Wi-Fi or the network cable on this device.
2. Open a web page to confirm the internet works.
3. Click Try again. The banner on the machine list clears by itself when the connection is back.

This device’s network connection dropped

What you see

“This device’s network connection dropped. Check this device’s internet connection, then try again.”

Before you connect, the machine list shows a banner instead: “This device’s network connection is unstable. Connecting may fail until it recovers.”

What it means

This device’s connection to the internet stopped answering while Remotle was connecting.

What to do

1. Move closer to the Wi-Fi access point, or use a cable.
2. Wait for the banner on the machine list to clear, then click Try again.
3. If it happens often on one network, run Diagnostics and send the results to your IT team.

Couldn’t reach Computle

What you see

“Couldn’t reach Computle. Check your network connection and try again.”

What it means

This device has a network connection, but Remotle could not reach the Computle services it needs to set up the session.

What to do

1. Click Try again.
2. If it continues, open Settings, Diagnostics and click Run Test. A failure under Services or Rendezvous points at what is blocked. See Diagnostics.
3. On a company network, send the diagnostics to your IT team with Network Requirements.
